About How to Grow Adults
A plain-spoken reference for first-time buyers, new adults, and anyone who would rather not learn finance the hard way.
What we publish
We write about the practical mechanics of adult life — checks, bank accounts, credit, first homes, first jobs. Every article is researched, dated, and revisited. We do not chase trends. We do not write AI-generated filler. We write things we wish someone had handed us when we needed them.
Who writes here
Articles are published under The Editorial Team byline — a working name for our editors, researchers, and the subject-matter reviewers we bring in for specific topics. The reviewer for a given article (a CFP, a Realtor®, an inspector) is named at the top of that article when they are involved.
Why no individual author bylines? Because we would rather hide the names of the editors than fabricate credentials. As the team grows and we add credentialed staff, we will name them on the pieces they write.
How we work
Our methodology, sourcing standards, fact-checking process, and corrections policy are documented in detail on the editorial standards page. The short version: claims have sources, dates have meaning, and we revisit articles to confirm they are still true.
